Sebastian Salas Laurens received his B.Sc. in Electronic Engineering at the Universidad del Norte in Barranquilla, Colombia, in 2017. During this time, he worked as a control engineer, designing the control logic for programmable logic controllers in industrial environments. In 2021 he received his M.Sc. in Microelectronics and Microsystems at the Hamburg University of Technology (TUHH), Hamburg, Germany. He focused on the design of digital circuits and signal processing. In his Master’s thesis, he designed a Random Number Generator for Stochastic Computing. Besides pursuing his Master’s studies, he also worked as a teacher in web development for immigrants and locals to help them find a job in Germany.
About Sebastians’s Research in Eternity
Sebastian is located at Eindhoven university of Technology (TU/e). His research, “Behavioural EMI Risk-based testing of medical devices”, is about simulating electromagnetic interference (EMI) scenarios in-situ, for medical devices. The project focuses to improve the testing of medical devices before they are deployed, as it is mandatory according to the current European product rules, which demand a risk-based approach on EMI. His purpose is to aid the faster deployment of new technology in the medical field.
